Flights
Although we have an airport here in Athens, we recommend flying into Atlanta. The local air shuttle has been a bit unpredictable in the past.
Transportation from ATL
There is one van service available from the Atlanta airport. AAA Airport Express (http://aaaairportexpress.com/routes/athens.html) has a stop at the meeting hotel as well as a few other local hotels. The shuttle fare is $45 each way. Of course there are rental car options in Atlanta as well.
Driving Directions from Atlanta Airport
There are two routes to get to Athens from the airport. Neither are particularly pleasant at rush hour, but I prefer the southern route. From Atlanta Airport, take the Riverdale Road route out of the Airport. Turn Left onto Riverdale Road and proceed to I-285 North/East towards Augusta/Greenville. Travel I-285 to I-20 (Exit 46B) East towards Augusta. Travel I-20 to Exit #82, Highway 138 towards Monroe/Athens (left). Stay on Highway 78 to Highway 316 (past Oconee State Bank on your right). Go right on 316 and STAY ON IT all the way into Downtown Athens, GA. Highway 316 becomes Epps Bridge Parkway, then Atlanta Highway and then Broad Street. After Epps Bridge merges with Atlanta Highway, you will go about three miles to Hull Street and the Holiday Inn will be on your right.

Lodging
We’ve reserved a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn (main) with a rate of $104. Go to http://tinyurl.com/kw7am2 and enter the Group Booking Code ULT (not sure where that came from!). While we were unable to reserve a block at other hotels, there are a few rooms available at the Holiday Inn Express and Hilton Garden Inn as well. These hotels offer slightly lower rates, but are a bit further from our meeting location.
